Free Community Forum on "Traumatic Brain Injury: From Sports
Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology invites the local community to a free public forum on “Traumatic Brain Injury: From Sports to Combat” at the Silverthorne Pavilion on Monday, February 27 from 7:30 to 9:00 PM.
Learn what experts are discovering about causes, consequences and clinical care across a broad spectrum of traumatic brain injuries. The panel will consist of Dr. Jeffrey T. Barth, Director of the Brain Injury and Sports Concussion Institute at the University of Virginia School of Medicine; Dr. Steven DeKosky, Professor, Vice President and Dean of the University of Virginia School of Medicine; and Dr. Kevin Guskiewicz, Chair of the Department of Exercise and Sports Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Jon Feeney, a family physician from Edwards and Copper Mountain Clinic, will provide a local perspective. Brief presentations will be followed by audience Q&A. Light refreshments will be provided.
